Welcome to Acorn and Conker classes...

Here you can find out about our learning and see what Early Years is all about.

Our Spring 2 topic - The World Around Us

Take a look at what we have been up to this week..

This week we have been very busy!! We enjoyed a visit to Tiptree Library where Linda the librarian showed us around and read us a lovely story. We also got the opportunity to read some of the books. It was a lovely experience.

On Wednesday we had a maths workshop where we showed our parents the way we work in our maths lessons and exactly how far we have come. We also enjoyed playing a range of maths games and exploring a range of maths activities with them.

We have learnt all about Shrove Tuesday and then we ate scotch pancakes with butter, jam or both!!! We also talked about Lent and what it means to Christians.

We found out about Mary Anning this week too, her love of fossils and her very special discovery! We thought that we would like to go and find some of our own fossils.....especially dinosaur ones!!!

We learnt about the artist, Wassily Kandinsky and looked at some of his paintings, discussing our likes and dislikes. We then created our own love heart picture in the style of Kandinsky and his concentric circles. The children did an amazing job, staying in the lines and using a wide range of colours. They look great.

We were very lucky on Friday to have a visit to the fire station where we looked around, looked inside the fire engine, sat inside the front seat and then squirted the hose!!!!!! It was an extremely exciting visit!!!

A very half term break to you all.

Welcome to our new EYFS children.

The resources in EYFS are played with thoroughly almost every day and from time to time they don't make it in one piece. If you have a surplus of toys please check our Wish List to see it you can fill a gap in our resourcing needs.
