Autumn 2 topic - Festivals and Light.

Have a look at what we have been up to this week......

This week we used the story, 'Handa's Surprise' as a stimulus for our drawing club. We created some wonderfully imaginative pictures of Handa and a magical, new fruit with a mathematical code and a word code for amazing things to happen to our pictures.

Wendy from the church came in to lead an assembly and tell us the story of 'Jesus and the five loaves and two fishes.'

We have enjoyed learning all about Africa this week; where it is, how many countries it has, some of its famous landmarks, life for a child in Kenya, all about African animals and all about Miss Bailey's trips around Africa.

We also enjoyed having our parents come into the classroom for a funky fingers' workshop. We showed them how we do dough disco, and then we showed them all the different activities we do in funky fingers.

We finished the week with our sponsored colour run, raising money for both classroom resources and the Imara, a charity in Africa that supports young mothers and their children. It was so much fun!!!

The resources in EYFS are played with thoroughly almost every day and from time to time they don't make it in one piece. If you have a surplus of toys please check our Wish List to see it you can fill a gap in our resourcing needs.
