Swimming is the one part of the national curriculum that most primary schools cannot deliver on their own site. Everything else happens in the hall, the classroom or out on the field. Swimming needs a coach, a pool, a slot somebody else controls, and the best part of a morning.

This is why we have linked with Swim:ED who provide a heated pool inside a secure structure, on our site, for a block of weeks. Children walk out of class, swim, and walk back in.

Swim:ED's first programme in Essex was run at St Luke's C of E Primary in Tiptree, during October 2026, and we continue to work with them to provide swimming with Years 5 and 6 having 15 sessions over a 4-week period.
