11+ 2027 Entry (CSSE)

Registration for the 11+ exam will be from 12th May to 19th June 2026 inclusive. CSSE schools intend to hold open days/evenings during June/July 2026. All dates and arrangements are correct at the time of publication (Feb '26) and regular updates are available via the Consortium of Selective Schools in Essex (CSSE):

From 12 May 2026Parents can register for the 11+ tests by post OR online by referring to the CSSE website: www.csse.org.uk
319Jun 2026Deadline date for receipt of evidence supporting requests for special arrangements.
30 Jun 2023Deadline date for CSSE Registration form to be returned to the CSSE office.
21 Jul 2023Test centre letters should be received by parents.
AUTUMN TERM              LOCAL AUTHORITIES DISTRIBUTE INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR APPLICATION PROCESS.

English Paper

This will comprise of:

  • Comprehension, grammar and vocabulary questions
  • Two pieces of continuous writing
  • The paper will last 1 hour, with an additional 10 minutes reading time and will be worth 60 marks in total.

 

Mathematics Paper

This will comprise of:

  • Questions consistent with the National Curriculum
  • Applied Reasoning (mathematical/non-verbal)

The paper will last 1 hour and will be worth 60 marks in total.
